||Philisa Zibi was born in the Eastern Cape in a small town known as eGcuwa. At the early age of 10 she went to boarding school in Somerset-East for her Primary School. In 2002 she moved Cape Town to finish her High School in the Collage of Cape Town under a Visual art matriculation (NAC). For her first year in tertiary learning she enrolled at Ruth Prowse for Visual art and Jewellery design but the following year discontinued with the course and moved to Pretoria. Early 2005 she pursued her studies in Jewellery design and manufacturing at the Tshwane University of Technology and finally obtained her Degree.
In 2009 she worked at Exclusive book stores part-time while on the side trying to establish her own contemporary jewellery company. Later this year in August she joined Durban Sings, It is an Oral history and Audio Media project hosted by the Centre for Civil Society and under the leadership of the School of Development Studies within the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
