Kea Gorden is a graduate student in politics at University of California, Santa Cruz. After completing her candidacy requirements in June of 2005, she was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship, and has been using the 2005-2006 academic year to work on a research project on water and sanitation service delivery and community voice with the Human Science Research Council in Durban. She is now working on her own research involving the affects of direct democracy on water and sanitation service delivery amidst postcolonial political legacies, using case studies of communities in KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape Provinces.
