Gcina Makoba is have been a community activist since her high school years fighting socioenvironmental injustices, she was born at Inanda, currently in third year majoring in Sociology and Politics in University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN).She is a co-founder of South African Unemployed Peoples’ Movement (SAUPM) that made news in 2008 when they chose looting as their way of demonstration. Gcina is currently active in environmental injustices such as the waste management and violation of human rights. Challenging the EThekwini Municipality’s’ being awarded the Stockholm Water Award in September 2013.http://ccs.ukzn.ac.za/default.asp?2,68,3,3308(Award mocks our suffering)
