The role of Brazil and China in the new global economic governance: From G8 to G20. Description: The project aims to analyze the processes of transformation of the G8 system from the late 1990s and the possibilities and dilemmas that such cases present for developing countries in the new global economic governance with emphasis on Brazil and the People's Republic of China (PRC) in this context. Specific Objectives: To analyze the processes of expansion of the G8 to the G20 in the scenario of global economic transformations during the last decade, especially after the 2008 financial crisis, giving prominence to the rise of emerging countries in this context ; Analyze recurrent dilemmas of the reconfiguration of the institution G20 process, focusing on the positioning of China and Brazil against traditional economic powers: the United States, Japan and European Union countries. Examine to what extent the rise of Brazil and China in the international arena has stimulated coincidences or disagreements within the G20, in attempts to re-structuring of global economic governance…status: in progress The Brazilian Cooperation for International Development in Angola & Mozambique: pragmatic solidarity between discourse & practice.
Description: This project aims to analyze the relations between Brazil, Angola to Mozambique, focusing on the intersection between the action of Brazilian companies and government action through Cooperation for International Development, the political context that, first, resets Brazil's place in the political chessboard of international power and, on the other hand, the reappearance of the African continent in geopolitical mundial.Os movements of companies and government who elect African countries as strategic expansion areas and the election of Africa as the second priority for cooperative actions, respectively, make the current situation particularly conducive to the conduct of research in this focus. To meet this goal the investigation will be forwarded to: a map of Brazilian cooperation projects for international development in Angola and Mozambique; analyze Brazilian institutional architecture in order to identify possible bottlenecks in the implementation of cooperation that exceeds the limits of discontinuous and punctuated actions ; identify major Brazilian companies operating in Angola and Mozambique permeated all research identifying discourses and relations among actors, agendas and practices between public and private entities…status: in progress
