A recent spatial history of Durban student unrest, 7 February

Topic: Several students have been killed and seriously injured in unrest dating back more than a decade, including UKZN-Westville and Unisa activists. What caused the protests, and when, where and how were these students demanding change? This seminar represents part of the Antipode journal series of mapping social protest in Durban.

Speaker: Delwyn Pillay has been a CCS Brutus Visiting Scholar since mid-2012, and is also active in the Green Squad Alliance and South African Peace Network.
