Speakers: Brian Minga Amza and Dime Maziba
Date: Wednesday 24 October 2018
Time: 13:00-14:00
Venue: CCS Seminar Room A726, Level 7, Shepstone, Howard College, UKZN

Topic:
Thomas Sankara, the former president of Burkina Faso is surely the most underrated African thinker and leader largely due to perceptions created by the western media’s propaganda. In a continent where political leaders, in addition to plundering public money often oppress their people and abide with former colonial masters, this seminar pays tribute to Sankara and his ideas. The aim of the seminar is to re-consider Sankara’s political ideas as well as his proposed economic model for development.

Speaker Bios:
Brian Minga Amza is passionate about Africa. He is an indigenous economist, writer and currently serves as president of the Pan Africanist Party for Progress.
Dime Maziba is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is a writer, poet and currently serves as the deputy president of the Pan Africanist Party for Progress.
