CCS Seminar: Housing Service Delivery in Cato Manor

Topic:
This seminar presents the results of a Cato Manor case study undertaken in 2018 focusing on housing services and citizen responses to basic service delivery in Durban. The case study explored how varied housing systems in Cato Manor function under different economic, environmental and socio-political conditions. The study identified a number of challenges affecting housing in the case study area these include: shack-landlordism; politicization of housing delivery; the quality of housing and lack of basic services.

Speaker Bio:
Nduduzo Majozi is a Masters Candidate in the SOBEDS Development Studies Programme and was based at CCS as a researcher on the Cato Manor project during 2018.
