He will unpack the current focus areas of his involvement at R2K including community workshops on rights to protest, and the role of women in society as leaders in social movements. He also looks at how R2K encourages societies and individuals to participate in municipal processes especially when it comes to the formulation of Integrated Development Plans (IDPs). Speaker Bio: Ben Madokwe is an activist and works at Right to Know (R2K). He is also a community scholar based at the Centre for Civil Society, University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is mainly overseeing one of the important pillars at R2K on a national level and provincial level which covers different programs including Participatory democracy, Countering Patriarchy, Communication rights and Countering repression.  Back
