Section27
Section27 is a human rights organisation that seeks to achieve substantive equality and social justice in South Africa. Guided by the principles and values in the Constitution, SECTION27 uses law, advocacy, legal literacy, research and community mobilisation to advance socio-economic rights, in particular the right to access health care services and the right to basic education as guaranteed in section 27 and section 29 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa respectively.
Uthingo

Disabled People South Africa (DPSA)
DPSA is a nonprofit and democratic cross-disability body made up of member organisations of disabled people that mobilises and advocates for their rights for the attainment of equal opportunity. DPSA is recognised as the national assembly of disabled people by Disabled People International (DPI), which has observer status in the United Nations.

Land Access Movement of South Africa (LAMOSA)
LAMOSA is South African community-based organization advocating for land and agrarian rights. It is also famous for a landmark Constitutional Court case (LAMOSA I and LAMOSA II) that successfully challenged the constitutionality of the Restitution of Land Rights Amendment Act to protect older land claims.

Right2Know (R2K)
R2K seeks to create a country and a world where we all have the right to know – that is, to be free to access and to share information. This right is fundamental to any democracy that is open, accountable, participatory, and responsive; able to deliver the social, economic, gender, and environmental justice we need. On this foundation, we will build a society and an international community in which we all live free from want, free from fear, in equality and in dignity.
Treatment Action Campaign (TAC)
TAC’s vision is to achieve a unified healthcare system that provides equal access to quality and dignified healthcare services for all, including people living with HIV and TB.
South African Network of People who Use Drugs (SANPUD)
SANPUD is a registered non-profit organisation made up of member peer-led organisations that share a common purpose – to defend the rights of people who use drugs. We further seek to dismantle myths, hypocrisy, and bad science that inform society’s understanding of drugs, their use, and the people who use them.
South African Waste Pickers Association (SAWPA)
SAWPA is an Organisation of between 4000 to 6000 registered waste pickers from all nine provinces of South Africa. SAWPA members are based at waste dump sites and on the streets of cities and towns across the country. They play a key role in environmental justice and mitigating climate change by collecting and selling waste as a livelihood strategy. They divert materials such as plastic, cardboard, paper, and metals away from waste dumps and recycle them – thereby reducing GHG emissions from waste dumpsites and reducing reliance on virgin material.
Sisonke
Sisonke is sex worker movement. We mobilise sex workers against human rights violations. We advocate for the decriminalisation of sex work.
National Shelter Movement of South Africa (NSM)
NSM’s aim is to network, advocate and lobby provincial, national and international stakeholders, and engage in service provision, legislation and capacity building on GBV and sheltering of abused women and their children in South Africa.
Association for Rural Advancement Farm Dwellers (AFRA)
AFRA is a land rights advocacy non-governmental organisation (NGO) working to support marginalised black rural people, with a focus on farm dwellers. AFRA works towards an inclusive and gender equitable society where human rights are valued, realised and protected and where all citizens have access to the means to ensure a decent standard of living and quality of life. The organisation does this through promoting, realising and protecting the human rights of farm dwellers, to ensure that farm dwellers achieve an improved standard of living and quality of life, thereby restoring their human dignity as equal citizens in a democratic society. AFRA works intensively with communities in and around the uMgungundlovu District Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and extensively in offering support and advice.
groundWork
groundWork’s vision is that people live well with each other and with the earth. To realise this vision, groundWork partners with affected communities to resist dirty energy and toxic production, building solidarity and local alliances that advocate for open debate and democratic control over resources such as energy, waste, and health, towards a viable future.
South African Food Sovereignty Campaign (SAFSC)
The SAFSC emerges out of a need to unite organisations, social movements, small scale farmers, farmworkers and NGOs championing food sovereignty into a national platform in advancing food sovereignty strategically in South Africa. This led to the Food Sovereignty Campaign Assembly that took place in late February 2015. At this Assembly, the campaign was further developed, a programme of action agreed to and a national coordinating committee elected, representing the SEM, community organisations, agrarian, small scale farmer, environmental justice and food price sectors. The objectives of the South African Food Sovereignty Campaign are to:
- Tackle the systemic roots of hunger
- Advance food sovereignty alternatives from below to end hunger and sustain life
- Provide a united platform for all sectors, movements, communities and organisations championing food sovereignty
- Build a food sovereignty alliance led by the hungry, small scale farmers, the landless and workers.
Triangle Project
We are a non-profit human rights organization offering professional services to ensure the full realization of constitutional and human rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBQI+) persons, their partners, and families.
Equal Education (EE)
EE is a youth-led mass democratic movement of learners, post-school youth, parents, teachers and community members who use mobilisation and public action, supported by careful research, to empower young activists and ensure equality in South African education.
