Masters in Development Studies Courses

CCS is responsible for three courses which are taught on the Development Studies Masters programme. The first is ‘Civil Society and Development’ which includes seminars on NGOs, CBOs, social movements and social protest. The second is ‘Political Economy of the Welfare State’ which reviews various debates on the overall configuration of power relations in public policy formulation and its impact on the outcome of institutional evolution, accumulation processes, social struggles and other factors both global and domestic. The third course is ‘Social Policy’ considering developmental aspects of social policy and social interventions to secure socioeconomic rights.
