The Centre for Civil Society (CCS), School of Built Environment and Development Studies (SOBEDS), University of KwaZulu-Natal is Seeking Two (2) Research Assistants (MA Level)
The successful candidates will undertake research on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on households in Cato Manor, Durban.
It is expected that the research will form the basis of the candidates’ dissertations and they will be supervised by Prof Shauna Mottiar.
Please note that students who have begun their dissertations or have already secured supervisors are not eligible to apply.
Successful candidates will also be expected to participate in CCS activities including seminars, Young Civil Society events, photographic displays and participatory video initiatives.
Applicants should be registered MA students within Development Studies, SOBEDS and are required to submit (1) CVs and (2) Transcripts under (3) Cover Letter to Simo Dlamini: DlaminiS7@ukzn.ac.za
The cover letter should outline the following (a) any fieldwork experience (b) reasons for interest in the study area (Cato Manor – Covid-19) (c) confirmation of willingness to be supervised by Prof Mottiar and participate in CCS activities.
