CAMPAIGNS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT!

Please join us for a special seminar series on civil society campaigns you need to know about!
One of these campaigns is the South African Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions Coalition (SA BDS),
which works to end international support for Israel’s oppression of Palestinians and to pressure Israel to
comply with international law.

About the seminar: The Palestinian unified call on the international community to boycott, divest, and
sanction Apartheid Israel is modelled on the call we made on the international community to isolate
Apartheid South Africa. International people-power successfully pressured governments to impose
sanctions in support of our liberation movements. Why is the BDS strategy effective, and how can we
escalate BDS campaigns in solidarity with the Palestinian resistance to genocide, ethnic cleansing, settler
colonialism, and apartheid?
Speaker bio: Roshan Dadoo is the Coordinator of the South African BDS Coalition. She has worked for a
migrant rights NGO and the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), where she

African Embassy in Algiers. Prior to this, Roshan grew up in exile and was an activist in the Anti
Apartheid Movement and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign in the UK.
